Cameronn:
nedkelly: Just wondering when the new plans come into effect.
Because if they already have I have noticed no change in my speeds from my river plan with FLS down and 128k up

The new plans only come into effect if you wish to change to them. ?Your current plan will not be changed, it will stay exactly the same bar the GST rise.

If you wish to change to a new plan you can call us on 0800 123 123 to discuss :) ?

I am currently on FS/FS old plan. Will the new plan just roll over at month end or.. I need to phone helpdesk
to switch over ?. strange as it is why is Xnet not email customers regarding the new plan ?

Hmm, im not changing.. not worth the extra cost per GB/.. Im stuck with crappy exchange/backhaul. I only get 200KB/s on peak.. even to the xnet speedtest.

I need some hand holding here. I'm on fusion vfx fs/fs rural. What would changing to (a new?) fusion plan mean to me if any? Costwise? Shouldn't be one speed wise since it's already fs. Thanks.

Nothing will change unless you want it to, if you want to change plans you can call us on 0800 123 123 to discuss.  Depending on your volume of usage you may be better off on the new or old plan.

An ever so slightly lower base rate and a higher per GB rate, Rural Fusion being $89.95 on the new plan and $1.28 per GB for data.  The old Rural plan will be $91.95 and $1.04 per GB for data (due to the GST hike).

Any idea when we will hear about the new Xnet plans? Any way we could get a hint on how they will be better?

All I can say is some other plans are being worked on, can't confirm a date for release however they'll be available at some stage during what is now the final quarter of this year.

http://www.xnet.co.nz/october-gst-change/ - information on the GST changes, most of it's already been answered in this thread but it might be worth a read :) .

Just saw an iSky advert, XNet is one of the partners so iSky data is free. Does this form part of the new plans perhaps?

No Niel it will not, it will be as for all plans and zero rated local traffic for WxC, the iSky data will fall into that bucket and be treated as WxC local traffic

Yes I am a employee of WxC (My Profile) ... but I do have my own opinions as well Wink

There goes one theory. Great to know WxC will not charge anyone for iSky data. Constipated with anticipation re the new plans...

Not sure if I would say constipated but I am certainly interested to see if there will be something to convince me to change from my current WXC plan.

Hmm, now I'm just worried that iSky will kill all the cabinet to ISP back-haul bandwidth!
