@IvanPiacun I have noticed that when the VTV will not start using the remote the status LED on the unit flashes when a button on the remote is pressed. To me this indicates that the VTV is communicating with the remote. Odd behaviour indeed.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I have been advised on a few occasions that I should use Wifi to connect my Gen 11 unit. I am using using wired Ethernet and  unless I am missing something, quite likely, but I don't know why Wifi would be better than wired as wired in almost all cases is superior to wifi.

Who is your ISP Mike? And what is your router make/model?

My ISP is Orcon, Router = Netcomm NF18ACV. I have Wifi disabled on the Netcomm and I am using a Google Wifi Mesh for Wifi. The VTV is connected by wired Ethernet to the Netcomm

I noticed the same, and although it said in the Status for the remote in the STB Settings that it was using Bluetooth it was in fact using IR and not working. That was why I unpaired and paired it again.

There is an IR Blaster on the remote? can I ask where ? I am looking at the remote and I cannot see it. Also where on the VTV unit is the IR receiver?

At the front of your remote, point your phone camera, On some phones you need to use the front camera because the other camera filters IR

I must be missing something as I cannot see it or the receiver on the VTV unit.

This is exactly the same issue I have. I'm with trustpower on a Netcomm NF15 was going to try a NF18 tonight but it seems it probably won't make a difference. I'm running the remote via IR as BT causes issues with the bravia sync and one touch remote settings on the tv

The plastic the remote is made of is slightly transparent, it's not noticeable with your naked eye but should be noticeable with a camera that doesn't block IR

Humour me for a moment. Disconnect the Ethernet and use wifi from the mesh unit. See if your issue reoccurs.

The IR blaster is I believe on the front of the remote and the IR receiver is on the front of the VTV Gen2 STB I believe.

Humour me for a moment. Disconnect the Ethernet and use wifi from the mesh unit. See if your issue reoccurs.

Google Mesh uses Auto channels, and changes them, but I assume it handles the change of channels properly between the Google Mesh devices, so you may have no problems if you use ethernet to a mesh point such as a Google WiFi router or access point (except for QoS) but you would probably have problems with the VTV Gen2 STB using Wi-Fi to the Google mesh because of the reasons I gave earlier, as well as the fact that Google Mesh creates a single Network of 2.4Ghz id and 5GHz Id combined, and VTV will connect on 5GHz but not 2.4 Ghz.

You may have QoS issues if connected via Ethernet to the Netcomm Router for reasons given previously, or to the Google Mesh as the Google mesh connects via wired Ethernet to the NetCom router so you may need to get Orcon to check that QoS is set up correctly on the Ethernet port on the NetCom to which the Google router is connected.

You could try changing the SID on the 5Ghz Wi-FI, to something other than used for the mesh, on the NetCom Router and enabling it with a fixed channel setting then connecting the VTV via WiFi to it. You can still use your Mesh for other devices which will not connect via Wi-Fi to the NetCom router if you don't give them the password for that SID or connect them to it via WPS.

@NH3Engineer What are the issues that BT causes with the Bravia sync and one touch remote settings? I have a similar configuration with Sony Bravia and have not noticed problems once the remote is configured correctly.
