kharris:

I'll need to contact Sky to see if they would bill My Sky all on it's own, then.

Do you already have your sky being billed through Vodafone?  If this is the case I would contact them first and see if they will continue that arrangement.

They don't formally offer mySky with cable plans as they have their own delivery system with the T-box.

No, I'm currently with Telecom on the old TV line bolt-on, with Sky billing me directly for Sport and My Sky, but looking to change (maybe).

Just recieved my bill since the free data upgrade from 20GB to 60GB from my phone call to a CS person, got charged the normal $55.95 p/m, but also $2.95 per GB over 20GB, so is quite a bit more.

Will give Vodafone CS a ring tomorrow to sought out, have always had good results from there customer service when I have contacted them, I'm sure this will be no different.

That's expected. As I explained before the usage resets but the allowance is pro-rated. If you had 5 days to go to the end of your billing then 60GB pro-rated would be 10GB and if you used anything beyond that then it would be extra.

Yes I read that previously, but haven't used much, so pro-rated I would be well within limit, 4GB in 11 days on 20GB and 23GB in 19days, so 27gb all up, the billing (in advance) says 'light speed 20GB' and no light speed 60gb on invoice, only extra 'Traffic Usage' of 7GB for extra $20.64.

The 60GB started the day I phoned the CS and 20GB Stopped in the online usage, but the 60GB upgrade has not gone through to there billing part from what I can see everything over 20GB has been charged at $2.95GB, so I will phone them to sought out.

Cheers

Yep, sounds like the 60GB plan is not active then.

All fixed with call to CS (I think), will see when next bill arrives.

No it's purely a modem. You need a router, wired or wireless to go with it.

I use a TPLink wireless router flashed with Gargoyle to go with it. That's better than the arrangement Telecom provides which is a Technicolor DSL modem/router which requires going to CLI to change simple things like DNS! And even more work to run a different router on it.

I recently help a friend with wireless problems they were having.

They are on warpspeed so had a cable modem but Vodafone (Telstraclear) also provided them with a NetComm NP805N Wireless N300 Router.  I believe these are supplied by the ISP but shipped directly from a NetComm supplier, so the model depends on availability. You could ring customer service and ask them.

I called up yesterday and they said they'd put me onto the price on the website, with no contract. So that's handy, a $20/month saving.
