motorwayne: Prices and plans are fine by me....if the 3G cellular network speed was decent.

Yeah I'm with you on that. I've got no issue with the plan or handset price as the iPhone $80 plan has worked out brilliantly for me for the last 12 months.

I just want to know whether I can do an early resign on Friday given that it's 1 day less than 12 months since I orginally signed up (11 July 2008). Perhaps I may be waiting till next week which isn't a major.

Out of questions how much of the plan do you usually suck up Data wise?

Not sure I understand your question but assume you're asking how much data I use each month? If so - it varies but never over the limit as I have wifi at home, at work and at most client sites that I visit

Newguy: You twisted bastards vodafone, I am on a Vodafone Contract at the moment, i have no Vodafone mobile at the moment because i sold the ones i did have to pay for a New iPhone, and you are trying to tell me i can not go and buy a iPhone 3GS to run my vodafone Sim in that still has 16Months to run on.

This is not Vodafone's fault...

Agreed, but VF could have been a little more open and announced that outright handset sales were for web orders only, when they released the outright handset prices.  I don't think this would have been too much to ask.

I don't get this at all.
I've been a VF PrePay customer for 5 years now and top up regularly but just don't make enough calls to need a monthly plan. I carry an iPod Touch and a Nokia phone everywhere with me, I use the touch much more than the phone.
I wanted a new iPhone 3GS and wanted to carry on with my Vodafone PrePay which is mainly used for texting but would include the 100Mb/month additionally so an extra $10/month to VF.

Now, I've lost all interest in VF, as many people have. I cannot understand why VF are worried about a few 'pirates' that may buy the phones unlocked and ship them overseas at the expense of all the rest of us. If people overseas are that bothered why wouldn't they just buy over there and jailbreak, wouldn't that be cheaper for them?
Customers like me should at least be allowed to walk into a VF store and buy a single iPhone to go with our PrePay cards. Why not make us pay by credit card and only allow one purchase per credit card?

I'll wait now and buy direct from MagnumMac (assuming they will get some and do deliver) and following that I'll be moving over to XT, not because I have to, or need faster 3G, or it might be cheaper - simply because VF aren't playing ball with their own customers. "Hey VF, I am one of your customers and I want to pay you for a new phone...."

Just out of interest, even if the iPhones do get sent overseas, who loses out? VF get their money, VF don't lose customers, is Apple forcing them on this? And only selling them online, is that to make sure VF have a record of who is buying them, or is that to delay the buyers who may have to wait an extra week or two for delivery?

Poor show Vodafone.

Purely out of interest and nothing more - how would Vodafone having done this have changed things for you right now?

Alright.. curious, REAL curious...

If I want to switch from TXTer60 (which I still got 20 months to go for the 24-months term) to any iPhone plan (probably iPhone Plan 60)... what will be total cost and what is the breakdown of that cost?

anyone care to help me to work that out? I can't seem to understand the complexity...

Internet is my backyard...

Maybe vodafone are just using this as an excuse to try stop the country from buying and changing to XT

If I was a pirate I would buy from aussie and ship overseas
they are selling unlocked iphones outright and they are cheaper than here

Expectations.  I like a lot of others am impatient when it comes to acquiring new gadgets.  Human nature I guess.  I, like a lot of others on here thought it was implied (by assumption only, I'll agree) that with the release of the outright prices and release date, that you would be able to rock on up to a VF store and purchase an iPhone outright.  If you are someone who can wait, then all the better to you!

I'm surprised that the "pirate" issue is such a big one for NZ.  Especially given current exchange rates and the price comparisons already made by others.
