Ahhh fffffffffuuuuuu!!!! Got up early (well for a Saturday) to make sure I'd be there for the courier. No sign of him so I checked my order with the email... My order hasn't been processed... Finally find number to call and they're shut on weekends... This sucks, I was promised Saturday delivery damn it!!!

Having sold my 3G I'm finding that not having an iPhone sucks and was really hanging out for delivery today.

Wow there's a lot of very impatient people in this thread. I'm especially flabergasted at the people who are upgrading from a 3G - there's almost no immediately discernible difference, you know.

Dezroy - I've only ever once received a courier package on a Friday, and that was a few years ago. By memory, it cost me an extra $10 for Saturday delivery.

I was lucky enough to have a very nice courier who delivered my iPhone to my door last night at 9pm. Very impressed as I didn't even pay an extra for the Friday delivery.

Well I sold my 3G so I could afford the 3GS. The vodafoneNZ twitter promised free Saturday delivery to those that ordered from the website prior to 9am Friday and I was kind of needing a GPS this weekend.

Pretty sure the vodafone site said that they were specifically doing Saturday deliveries though.

I got mine at the Lambton Quay shop yesterday. Walked up at 09:10 and was out of there by 09:30 and the experience was painless.

In fact I'm typing this on my new 3GS on the Geekzone mobile site :)

Sheesh. 9pm!?
that's crazy.

But yes you're right, VERY nice courier!

Should have offered him a drink for that.

If only my courier was as dedicated to delivery my late packages :(

That might be debatable ;-)

How about frustrated then impatient, try this on;

Meadowbank FirstMobile - Not selling the Iphone at all
Pakuranga - Sells Iphone but you have to go to an actual Vodafone outlet to do an early resign.
Sylvia Park - Our systems down we believe it's only our store.
Manukau - There's a nationwide outage on our system (apparently only when it comes to doing early resigns)!!

Maybe I'll stop being impatient now ... lol

I agree getting a new phone is not life or death but I've been wanting one since I heard of the new model. I pre-registered and then stayed up till midnight to order it.

Now they are out of stock and I dont know when I will be receiving it. I could have just walked into a store on Friday (or Saturday to buy).

So now I have to call VF and have my delivery address changed from my home address to a work address.

Sure its not a lot of effort, but its annoying and has put me out.

Wouldn't it have been smarter to wait until next week to sell your old phone for a new one if you so badly needed GPS this weekend?

You may think you're clever by implying that I made a dumb move by not holding on to my phone over the weekend without the benefit of hindsight that Vodafone woud not be fulfilling the promise they made.

I wanted to make sure I was maximising the money I received from my 3G and I only made plans for the GPS once I had been promised Saturday delivery.

That comment really wasn't necessary.

He was simply asking a question. It was the same question I had in mind actually.

+1. He asked a valid question, no need to respond like that! You were never guaranteed to get the phone by Saturday so yes it would have been smarter to wait until you physically had the new phone before selling the old one if you specifically needed GPS. Better to doubt that the company will deliver and then be pleasantly surprised rather than hedging all your bets on them coming through.

Well, he wasn't asking a question, the context implies rhetoric.
And I actually was promised Saturday delivery.
