The light at the end of the tunnel seems to be going the opposite direction!

My goodness.

Could it be fixed in Lower Hutt? that is the fastest I've seen at this time of the day for a long time.

Great to hear. There were lots of nodes planned for work in Avalon today which would have probably covered lots of Lower Hutt too, and there's been lots of other work happening last few days that would've probably contributed too. I'm just waiting on an update from the project manager about how the work today went.

There was a period of time here where we were breaking 100 Mbps, and then it all went downhill again. It's likely not something worth logging a fault over, though. The node may have just been more congested than usual, especially given how low it is right now at peak hours.

Seeing pretty much the same thing here. Dylan has confirmed the node we're on has been upgraded, but we're still seeing slow speeds. After rebooting everything the vodafone speed test posts consistently poor results.

Edit: We're in Island Bay.

Are you on WKH?

I'm in Island Bay and my speed test is exactly the same as yours.

Yes we are. It *seemed* like things picked back up a few weeks ago, but now speeds have gone down the toilet again.

Snap!
Same timescale for us (except that our upstream speeds have been better).

Our upstream speeds have not really ever slacked off but we're on a 50/2 plan so that's not saying much. Downstream is another story though with things being somewhat unusable at times. I guess it's just waiting for September to end and the overall bottlenecks to decrease before we see reliable speeds again. After that, if things haven't improved, I'll look at switching providers.

Did your temporary improvement start on 11 September? (the date of the WKH cut-over)

Here are TrueNet Wellington cable stats for the past two weeks.

Each graph represents the hourly averaged downstream speeds of 11 volunteers with "100/10" Mbps connections over a period of 7 days.

freitasm: Very strange. Not 130 Mbps like yesterday but not bad either. On the other hand the upload which has been not affected during this whole time is now way below the 10 Mbps

After my node was switched upload speeds were shocking until I rebooted my modem, they'd been rock solid prior. May have been a coincidence, but worth a try.
