I only came to that conclusion after reading posts on http://www.gpforums.co.nz/forum/Broadband/?s= forum.  Some people always seem to have good results.    But bulk of the people are getting slow speeds.

I have no idea I am just a customer like you.

Yahn, have you phoned the help-desk about these disconnections? This may indicate a DSL issue, and a DSL issue can of course affect your Internet performance. E.G. if there is a lot of errors on your connection, there may be a lot of packet lose, stop/start of your connection, multiple retries when retrieving data. Thus, this could be a factor affecting your speed.

Yahn:

I do get slow international speed over the last 2-3 days, but I would say overall my ADSL connection is fine/perfect - no drops with PPP whatover, modem sync up nicely all the time.  Even speedtest to Xnet is as good as you can get, just internationally is a bit slow.  Youtube was a bit of a pain last night, but I don't use it a lot so I can live with it.

On River.  Oddly enough my international speeds have been relatively quick lately (several weeks).  Relative to what I was getting before, when I wasn't even getting 120kB/s!  These would be fairly typical results:

Perhaps some bandwidth has been redirected my way lol.

Undecided After 5pm the international bandwidth seams to be "limited" or just overloaded and drops from the 5000-6000kbps to Los Angeles to just barely 500kbps.

Strange thing though, after ringing up xnet my upload speeds are faster (they were 500) now they are 700kbps... To bad im not a server, im a user so it doesnt really help me that much to have a 700kbps upload when the download is only 500 kbps Undecided

I see no posts on this thread for the last few days, but I believe this is ongoing... I'm certainly
still getting rather disappointing results during peak hours.

Anyone from WorldXChange care to comment on when there will be some more bandwidth available?

Yes this issue is ongoing. I think people are starting to realise that posting daily speedtests doesn't really help anyone. However, I sure wish we could get an update from the Xnet staff.

This has already been covered previously in this post:

So I would not expect any further comment from WxC. If you feel your are having issues with bandwidth, then you can address these concerns directly with the help-desk.
As already stated, managing the bandwidth requirements for an ISP is very complex. How do you predict how many new customers you are going to get over say the next 6 months? And then if you get much much more than expected, it takes time to get more bandwidth online.

If there is a problem here, then I'm sure WxC are doing all that the can as quick as they can, so lets give them a break for a while and leave them focus on running their network.

hmmmmm. Think Maverick is a big enough to speak for himself.
And a query re time frame is not unreasonable.

Erm, IF there's a problem? I think it's fairly well established that there is a problem.

Is anybody else still getting poor international speeds? My local speed is almost 10 times my speed to the US. I'm getting a bit tired of watching youtube clips 10 seconds at a time.

Still having problems with international at peak times - it seems to be limited to around ~25KB/sec per connection. National is fine.

I'm in the 58.28 static range.

Yep, still having issues here. Seems to happen fairly suddenly at around 3:00-3:30PM.
