That does not work for me either.  I couldn’t backup to the start of the programme. Please let me know if you can?

It usually takes a while for NewsHub to be available on the Three app, plus it is only SD and not HD.

It wouldn’t let me rewind to the start either.

Seems to be quite a few programs that can't be recorded. Doctor Who and Mrs Brown's Boys tomorrow night are two I've noticed just now. Almost wish I had an aerial on the roof. Almost.

Most of the content on 3 News is SD, all foreign material and most local. Saves them money.

One year ago, on 1 January 2019, the ability to record NewsHub Live (3 News) stopped. It was not due to a restriction by NewsHub (I asked them). It took about 10 days for the problem to be fixed by Vodafone.

Sadly, as of today (1 January 2020) I have exactly the same problem.  This is now on a Gen 2 box.  Trying to record NewsHub comes up with “this programme cannot be recorded due to partner restrictions”.

This must be some kind of bug due to a new year. Please can this be fixed as soon as possible @sansom.  Thanks.

@Tehoro OK just went into the planner and Newshub is missing! OK that is very odd never noticed that before

This issue occurs as MediaWorks change a series ID for a brand new year. Please set up a new recording for this series. There is work underway to resolve such issues in future.

Thanks @ZollyMonsta.  Unfortunately I cannot yet set up a new series recording - NewsHub Live at 6 pm is still restricted.

Oops ok, yes it looks like there is a problem. An internal ticket has been raised to have this resolved.

Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster, so thanks for all the previous unacknowledged assistance!

I'm having problems with my VFTV gen2 wifi connection and unfortunately I can't hardwire it to a router/AP without a long Cat6 (10m+). Connection is repeatedly freezing /dropping out just on the VFTV. It doesn't matter if its TV, Lightbox, or Netflix via the VFTV box. They are all great on the smart TV / laptop with wifi.

I'm running VF VDSL (50+ down, 20+ up) with a HG659 router/modem (wifi off) into a Netgear Orbi Router (AP mode) with the Orbi satellite upstairs. I've setup static IPs, adjusted the 5GHz channel to a clear one but still having problems. Orbi is at the opposite end of the same room as the TV/VFTV

We've had the box for a few months and only started using it in anger recently, so probably won't be able to return it. So any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers

Have you tried connecting the Orbis to each other via ethernet, so the back haul doesn't possibly use 2.4GHz, or swapping around 5GHz channels due to satellite weather radar??

I was having similar problems a couple of weeks back but things seemed to have settled down after I updated both the VTV and Orbi to their newest firmware versions (so not quite sure which did the trick!). If you are using the RBK50, give firmware 2.5.18 a try.

Hi Ivan and liquidcore,

Thanks for your replies. The satellite is upstairs and the router downstairs both have the latest firmware - as does the VFTV. I don't have a long enough ethernet cable to really make any difference with connecting them up. We're in a rental with no structured wiring.

The Orbi is set up for 5GHz channel 48 (out of the choice of 36, 40, 44 48). Checked with Netspot to ensure it is a clear channel locally. Nearest in use is 44. Now also changed the 2.4GHz channel to a clear one, so will see what happens now.

Cheers

Try channel 40 if no luck.
Other channels could be dropping because of Rain Radar as mentioned.

Your other devices maybe using 2.4Ghz which is why they are not dropping.
