marmel: Is anybody else still getting poor international speeds? My local speed is almost 10 times my speed to the US. I'm getting a bit tired of watching youtube clips 10 seconds at a time.

Press the pause button to allow it to buffer more before continue watching, or use Tube Sucker and VLF Player to watch it off your hard drive.  Not the solution to the slow speed, but it helps in the mean time.

You can never have enough Volvos!

Yeah I know you can do that but that sort of defeats the purpose of having full speed internet. Given that people are still obviously having issues with the international traffic and have been pinging the LA server as suggested it would be great if someone in the know can tell us if this is going to be a long term thing or not.

Just tonight, I've started getting 5MB+ to LA, but YouTube and Gamespot still take a long time to buffer video.

Strange.  Has the LA speedtest been prioritised or something.  I hope not.   I'm getting 1.5Mbps to LA but only 600Kbps for Sydney.

Seems my 5MB+ LA speedtest was a one off..

Suffice it to say I couldn't be happier.

Will anyone from wXc comment about the speeds? We are using the server recommended for international speed tests.

I doubt it. They're all pretending that no problem exists, and that it's perfectly normal.

But how much should we expect? Maybe members using other ISP's could post local/international speedtests to compare. I realise that international speeds are going to be slower than local but by how much?

I hear the frustration but be fair eh, they know and have acknowledged there's a problem as maverick said on 3 March reply 114279.  Having said that, good on Mike for demonstrating a surprising alternative!

March was one month ago. There have been no comments on the continuing degradation of the service, or the lack of effort to correct it.

I'm sure there would have been efforts to corect it.

I just wanted someone to provide a bit of insight so we can hopefully see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.
