Give it some time, there has still been reports of congestion issues, maybe not to the extent of a few weeks ago, but its work in progress I'm assuming. Would be great if we could get some type of formal outcome from Vodafone to say whether the work is complete yet or not.

Agree.

My neighbours and I (Island Bay) are starting to have congestion issues again - not nearly as bad as before, but a definite trend towards slower peak-time downstream speeds ...
(80's and 70's at peak-time instead of the high 90's that we were getting after the "fix").
Latency and upstream speeds are normal.

Right now in Petone,

Rarely getting the full 100, haven't seen it since before congestion became really bad for us in June I was getting tests regularly 99-101 down so still not back as high as it was when first signed up but its definitely fast enough.

Is that url meant to be directing us to a different broadband test?  If so it's not actually doing that.  Just saying.

cheers

Still rubbish using CNET test.   Also regardless of testing results the shocking performance of things like Netflix this week are a clear indication of issues.

+1 on performance. I'm trying to watch netflix right now, 4pm on a Sunday, constant buffering and quality drops. Not once has it reached 1080p. Pretty sick of it.

Edit: I honestly didn't know netflix quality went this low. Will Vodafone bother doing any further upgrades with fibre so close? They know that most of us are going to jump ship.

Close for some, but not for others.
We don't get fibre until late 2019 at the earliest.

Theoretically, if enough people jump ship, congestion will improve for the stragglers.  wink

That is not a very long time when it comes to building infrastructure though. How old is the cable tech already? Will they really want to spend much more if they know everybody will leave within 4 years? Unless they really do think it can compete with fibre in the long run and be as reliable, which I'm all for, competition is a good thing.
