first impressions: seems solid, streaming etc very smooth, responsive UI

But a couple immediate annoyances;

1. Live TV in menu backgrounds & transparent backgrounds. I've read this thread and it has already been acknowledged by VF. Any updates on getting this horrid feature removed/ or a toggle enabled?

2. Can I delete or hide or even re-arrange Apps? Seems to be no user manual available other than the setup guide

3. What is MyTV widget used for? its blank and I don't see a use for it yet?

scroll down to using the app, my Tv

The MY TV tab shows your recorded or saved content.

  • Here you will see all of the content that you have recorded, saved to watch later, and are part way through watching.

Hi, @firefuze

Yes.  The transparent overlay of the UI on what's playing is a key feature of the current VTV design. It's not just with live tv, it's how the UI works with any native VTV content that's playing.  The advantage of this is that it allows you to adjust settings and search for what to watch next while still hearing and seeing (to a limited extent) the currently playing content.  I personally find it really useful, and we're yet to see a large number of customers unhappy with it.  However, you aren't alone with some users not liking it.  The UI is designed by Vodafone Group based in the UK, and they are planning an update the UI based on their surveys of the VTV users around the world.  Overall the survey results so far show most users very happy with the UI, but there will be improvements coming.  Timing is TBD.

No, the apps and their layout are pre-configured by us, but again there is work ongoing to bring a form of App store to VTV (probably supplied by Metrological).

And I see your third question has already been answered.

Thanks for the feedback.

Cool that an App Store may be in the pipeline, for now though I'd like it if they just rearranged based on which were used the most often.

I'm wondering if the Gen 1 hardware has bluetooth capability for potential use with the bluetooth remotes (even if it isn't enabled in software right now)

There is no Bluetooth hardware inside the Gen1 STB

Does the TV application replicate the basic tv functions of the STB?  i.e. if at home, are all the channels available, cloud recording there etc.?  Is the app available on Android TV or is it the portable devices only?

Is there any way to not have the Sky content showing on the Vodafone app in the on demand section?  I don’t have a subscription so don’t need to see them.
