Is this a local issue or are international sites (such as www.amazon.com) REALLY slow for everyone at the moment? I'm on DSL in Whakatane.

I live in Wellington and have noticed the same thing, www.stuff.co.nz & geekzone load almost instantaneously but sites like the bbc take a lot longer. This has not always been the case.

On TCL Cable, no problems browsing Amazon.com, into weird subject like constitutional law, something that won't be cached anywhere. sub 4 second page render times

Likewise, BBC.co.uk is pretty nippy, Dow Jones stockmarket info up in under 4sec.

Can you include a traceroute to www.amazon.com, just in case something in the packet path is playing up?

traceroute to www.amazon.com (72.21.194.1), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets

If it happens again (it's fine now) then I'll post back with more details; my original post was purely to find out whether it's everyone or just me.
