Hi

Does anyone know how vfx voip would go over woosh ?  I know woosh has it's own phone option but the calling rates are lower with vfx and a family member already has vfx so calls between us would be free.

Thanks

Burtz

Hi Burtz,

interesting question, Whoosh has a bit of reputation for latency on it's network which is a killer for Voice (please note these are my own observations only), initially a while ago we did a couple of tests and found the network performance poor due to dropped packets and inconstant latency results, however that was a while ago and the performance may have improved, if some has some results they could post then I could advise a little better, better still if anyone is actually using Whoosh wireless advise as to their observed network performance.

Just some feedback we have had a customer using a standard Woosh connection but it appears they still have huge problems supporting real time apps wanting low latency with little packet loss, this is actually fairly typical of the amount of packet loss we are seeing on this standard Woosh connection, the quality of this call would be very bad and is related to the service provider no other service provider we have seen has had this type of issue.
