Service revenue growth in the Group’s operations in the Pacific area was impacted by a decrease in New Zealand’s service
revenue due to increased competition and a termination rate cut at the end of the last financial year.

Net addition to quarter ended September 2006: 11,000. Total connections: 2.11 million (76.3% are prepaid accounts).

You really have to wonder how much longer both networks can get *any* new connections! Every teenager has 2 phones now!

I would say a reasonable portion of those pre-paid connections are not being used as it takes 12 months for them to disconnect after the last 'top-up' but they have been counted anyway...

I disagree. Vodafone do this at the end of every financial year (Telecom do the same) so it's already been done this year. I recall somebody telling me after they had done it this year there had been something like 30000 disconnections in total this year and around the same last year. That's a pretty small % of their total customer base.

It's interesting to see that the Pacific is still very much a cash cow for Vodafone. I'm sure all the Vodafone employees on here will be looking forward to another big xmas party and bonus they have obviously had a very good year!

In the report it advises only connections are counted that have been used in the last 90 days

I see, that would make it more accurate.
