So, we are moving house and we are Telstra customers and have been for just over 2 years, so we are off contract. We are in the Wellington cable area.

I call up Telstra and they say: Sure, moving house is fine, it will cost $60 to move and if you want a T-Box it and the 20GBs and national calling it will be a [certain price].

So I say that on the website they are offering a deal for significantly less and am told that is for new customers. If I cancel the current service and sign up and a sign up as a new customer I would save $60 up front and about $25 a month. We would have to change phone numbers but we did that when we became Telstra customers so that isn't the end of the world.

We really like being Telstra customers but if this is the way customers for two years are treated and we have to change our phone number we might be better to look at other providers.

Seems Telstra needs to learn a thing or two about customer retention, again.

Anybody switched from Telstra and had a great or awful experience?

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?

Hi Jack,

Please email me your customer number and I'll ask one of the team to look into this for you and see what we can do.

Cheers, Gary
