Hi, recently had a problem with my router dropping Internet at home. After long conversations with the help desk involving having to explain, that yes, I have turned the modem on and off again, tried multiple devices, and done all the standard idiot checks- I was advised it was my end. Turned out, that my router was dying. I got a new one, had some issues getting that sorted as unlike my old router (changed from Belkin to Netgear) with NAT disabled, it turned the modem off and the modem router just into a router. That was not Vodafones fault however. I was credited $20 into my account for the trouble which was kind.

It was at this point that the customer service went bad. The credit was not applied, then after calling to investigate I was told it was common to apply the credit on the next billing cycle- which made sense, but I was told that they would apply it now to stop any problem. Today I received my bill, and there was no credit. I rang up to be advised it was a mistake and would be corrected.

I felt frustrated that I had to chase this up again, so I am now looking at changing providers. This will help me out as well as I would like to have a unblock service up and running for my apple TV. Is anyone out there with Orcon, and happy? Unblock service work with Orcon all good?

Interestingly, when I said to the guy this morning that I was investigating changing ISP's, he said I understand and I would do the same. Rather than, What can I do to keep you, your service is important to me....

Interesting.

Have sent you an email, thank you for your time. I wasn't trying to rant only, also interested in others experiences with Orcon.
Cheers.

Don't even think about it. Every issue is like this one with Orcon in my long experience. I can't recall a time for myself or any of my clients where I had a good experience with Orcon

For me if I had to pick between Orcon or Slingshot, I'd go without Internet :)

Well that's a lie but it does demonstrate how bad it is.

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply- have been busy with work. I just want to thank Chris for emailing me promptly and sorting out the situation for me. I haven't been home to test the static ip yet.

Chris, all it takes is some quality personal service like how you provided me to make one feel valued. I appreciate it.

Cheers,
Gareth

Hi Chris, thanks for your offer to help.  The bill just arrived and it was wrong, i rang Vodafone and it was all sorted within 5 mins, no hassles.  Vodafone has been great but it was just a better offer from another provider that made me switch.  If vodafone was to offer a better deal in the future, i wouldn't even have second thoughts to come back.  Thanks for the last few years of great service.
