Just a quick question, if you have multiple VFX lines on say a PAP2T ( with standard analog handsets )can you transfer a call from one line to the other ?

to further that, if you were to have multiple PAP2T's can you transfer to any VFX number that is not on the same piece of hardware?

i guess you could always conference call and hang up but i'm more thinking along the lines of

Person 1 calls through to your VFX number

you aren't who they are trying to get ahold of so you want to put them through to Person B .. but you want to call person B, make sure they're there / tell them whos calling / see if they want to talk to person 1  - without that person 1 being part of that conversation...

then if all is well put person 1 through to person B

The answer to that is yes, you can transfer between all numbers and devices

Great! last question on that section then. Are you billed for intiating another call with a VFX number to transfer this person too in any way?

No Calls between VFX numbers are free so no issue there

getting somewhere now

9am - ordered PAP2T from ingram
10:30 - arrives at work.

somewhere between then i called to set up an account.. all your standard questions as you would expect from reading the threads on this forum..

12:49 - account acivated ... and heres the best part. i get a call confirming that its done & we step through a couple things to make it work .. didn't even have to call tech support they called me!!!!.. woohoo..

only things to deal with is currently i had to allow all ports from the devices IP to get the device to work with the firewall

the guy who called wasn't 100% sure but didn't think my standard phone was able to transfer to any other phones
but was going to email me back with both the port question for our firewall and confirmation on the phone..

other that that seams to be a great little service

SteveR: the guy who called wasn't 100% sure but didn't think my standard phone was able to transfer to any other phones but was going to email me back with both the port question for our firewall and confirmation on the phone..

I have a Uniden corded phone with a dedicated FLASH button but I haven't used the Call Transfer function before so I've just given it a try to see what happens...

After pressing the FLASH button, the caller is put on hold, you can then dial a new phone number and that all works OK.  But then you should be able to hang up and the caller should be transferred to the third party.

That's where it all comes unstuck.  The phone which has been hung up gives brief rings to indicate that the original call has been placed on hold, but it never gets transferred.  If I pick up the phone again, I can once again talk to the original caller who has been left waiting on hold in the meantime.

So far as I can tell from the document entitled "XNET MyVFX Feature Guide" I have done everything correctly to transfer the call.

So indeed, it looks like the Transfer Call function is not compatible with standard phones as you were warned by WxC's Tech Support guy.

Not a big deal for me, but you may see it differently.

It will be interesting to hear what WxC have to say.

Your total time of 3 Hours 49 Minutes to get a new phone number connected, including ordering and receiving the hardware is pretty outstanding, I have to say! Cool

You have a EMail with the firewall info , yes you will be able to transfer with your Phone, Press the Flash Hook on your phone you will get dial tone and the first call will be placed on Hold, Make your second call and Falsh hook again calls will be joined then just hang up

You may try , these are not listed by Default as generally flash hook will work

*44 for Blind Call Transfer
*45 for Attented Call Transfer
,
This may solve the issue if your Phone is not working

SteveR: thats the best!..  it works now for me and my old phone!

How did you get it to work exactly Steve?

I tried dialling *44 or *45 after receiving a call and nothing happened.  The caller just got some loud tones in their ear...

So I thought maybe you have to use Hook Flash first but that didn't do anything either.

Please enlighten me.

Cheers,
Grant.

OK, I got it now:

1) Answer incoming call
2) Press FLASH button on phone
3) Wait for Dial Tone
4) Press *45
5) Wait for Dial Tone again
6) Dial the number you want to transfer to
7) Hang up
8) The call gets transferred to the number dialled

I just tried it 3 times in a row and each time it worked perfectly.

Cheers Phil.
