Hey,

Does anyone know when Number Portability is going live in New Zealand?

Anybody know what the deal is with Telecom's comment on the above Telecom page?

Please note Fixed Line Number Portability is not available in all locations.

Some exchanges aren't capable of portability due to their age (eg, I cant move my 07-850 number to 07-848). Expect this to be fixed when the full VoIP system rolls out.

anyone on a neax 61s or 61k exchange cannot port, you need to be on a 61E or better, I believe that there are not many s and k exchanges left

There's been a Kai (S&K) replacement mooted for over 10 years. Does anyone know if any were ever done or has it been rolled into the NEAX replacement program?

The chances of the NEAX 61S, K & M exchanges being replaced before the NGN goes live are less than zero.

Michael.

I don't think that is true, the Titirangi exchange 9-817 is due to be replaced by year 2000
