Last night I noticed webpages were taking a while to load, emails taking a while to send (via Outlook) - this was around 9.30pm. Usually I am not on the laptop at that time, so I thought perhaps it was that time of the night where customers on TelstraClear do their downloading, e.g. torrents (legal I do hope!).
Before going to bed, I shut down all the computers and turned the power off to both my modem and router for ~7 mins. I didn't turn any computer back on until the morning.
But I am still noticing the slow speeds of websites, and sending email (so far I've only observed my Outlook send email, and can't be sure if there is slowness in receiving). This speed reduction is observed every so often. Other times, things load as fast as I've obseved them to load in the past.
We have, however, gone over our Internet usage for the month, and we start a new month of 40GB tomorrow. But TC don't reduce the speed if you go over (at least that I know of for cable connections).
Is anyone else experiencing slowness at times, either in Petone or in other InHome areas? It may, however, just be me.
I'm usually not that good at stating what I need to say when I post these things on here, so if I've left any details out please let me know.
