Hello,

Have just upgraded to warp speed on Telstra Clear and the engineer said my wireless router was holding back my wireless as I got 94MB d/l on wired but only 20mb d/l on wireless. Now I did research before hand and from what I found my Cisco Linksys WRT 120N would be fine as it does wireless G and N.

I am more thinking its a setting rather than its not capable, if its not capable can you recommend one to get thats not overly priced.

My current settings are:
Network mode - mixed (Options are - mixed, BG mixed, N only, G only, B only, disabled)
Channel width - 20MHz only (Options are - Auto 20 MHz or 40 MHz, 20MHz only, 40MHz only)
Standard channel - 6-2.437GHz (options are various similar numbers)

And what results do you get from 40 MHz wide N??

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

It dependss entirely what sort of environment you're in. If you're in a crowded environment with lots of other AP's you'll probably struggle to get more than 30Mbps, no matter what sort of gear you use.

Wileless isn't a replacement for cabled Ethernet connections, it's complimentary.

Wiresless stops working, even with various combinations, only seems to work on mixed/20MHz.

So you potentially don't have hardware that supports 40MHz at the other end. In a good environment with good kit you're only going to get ~60Mbps anyway. If you want better speeds move to dual band kit, but you'll need to upgrade the devices you're using to connect to the wireless as well.
