Hi,

Does anyone have an issue with airplay being unreliable through one of these routers? My self, my boss and apperingly a few people on the TM forums ( http://www.trademe.co.nz/Community/MessageBoard/Messages.aspx?id=1153345&topic=3&#p23401931 ) are having the same sorts of issues.

Airplay seems to disappear as an option from the iPhone but a reboot of the Apple TV appears to fix it for a while.

While I know it sounds like an issue with either the iPhone or the Apple TV, all users seem to have the router in common.

Has your modem got the latest software loaded?

To update login to the modem as user: advanced and password: advanced

Make sure both are on the same SSID/network of same frequency if you have the option to connect to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

Internet is my backyard...

The update is a .BIN file so save the file to a location on your PC / MAC ETC... browse to 192.168.1.1 log in using details above you will see the option to update modem!

You are best to action this update over cable not WIFI

chiefie: Only doing 1 SSID/Channel/Frequency. Even if it was doing a few I would expect it to be able to route that traffic to be honest?

johnr: Thanks, I have updated the firmware. It reports it's self as an EchoLife HG556a, now on firmware V100R001C12B037, stupidly I forgot to note the previous firmware version it was running.

Will see how it goes.

Quite a few bug fixes in the latest version as well so well worth doing
