i just got PDQ MAX connected today (like finally!)

is my speed ok? or way below average?

i feel kinda slow while im gaming (could be due to game lag)

i am using the DSL502T (supplied by Telecom when i was on their plan last year),

i am still awaiting for my free modem Dynalink RTA1320

will the modem make any difference? (might have settings changed for the specific ISP)

should i call TCL to turn off interleaving? or what else can i do to improve the speed?

P.S i am located in Dunedin in the heart of the campus!

anyhow many thanks for any comment!

CHEERS!

have you checked what speed you connect to the extainge at ? (on the dsl modem status page)

with national there is usually no diffrence bewteen the connection and local speeds unless the extainge is under a large load ...

also do other speed tests such as speedtest.net, quicksilver members section and jetstreamgames.co.nz (dont know the actual url for that one)

to check your ping time through the extainge try pinging one of there internal servers like dns1.clear.net.nz (there primary external dns server)

you could try tracerouting to national sites ( www.nzherald.co.nz ) & international sites ( www.google.com ) to see where the jump in ping comes from ( where the lag is)

Enjoy :)
