Tests done from a hard wired connection to the modem.

On the vodafone site
Download Speed: 22999 kbps (2874.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 7710 kbps (963.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: -1 ms

On the TelstraClear site
Download Speed: 180876 kbps (22609.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 9560 kbps (1195 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 43 ms

ANy thoughts as to why they would be so different, we are talking a factor of 10 on the download speed.

~176Mbps??? I think something is a wee bit wrong here unless you are on some kind of very high grade business connection.

Time travels first step - Data arrives before it leaves (Vodafone is just that good)

Does your router have a flux capacitor?

Yes i know speedtest.net is not really a measurement tool ,but it is indicative of what the interconnection is like.

To SNAP in Christchurch


To Vodafone in Auckland


Both from cable network in Kapiti

Damn... My Cisco SRP router must be limiting my connection now. I can only get 85 Mbps to Snap Christchurch from Johnsonville ;)
