Hi there,

I would like to increase the number of rings before my mobile transfers the call to voicemail.  Could someone help?  I use Nokia N73.

My Telecom work phone seems to ring forever before it goes to voicemail.

Thanks everyone!:)

Ive got the opposite, I would like to reduce it. I have my phones on ring once so that doesnt annoy me, but they keep vibrating till the call goes to voicemail, which is about 30 seconds, and most people dont hold on for that long anyway.

Prepay can't be changed (at least thats what 777 told my colleague yesterday).

On Account can be changed, up to 30 seconds (at least that's what the limit was when I changed it).
Call 777 and they can change it for you.

Telecom prepay allows 30 and 40 seconds I believe.

I rang Vodafone and the guy said he would reset my account or voicemail, not sure. Now it does ring for 20 seconds:)  It used to only ring 10 secs!  I am fast, but not superman, haha.

Something must have happened during a "system update" on one of vodafone's many, unreliable systems.

I did not have Voicemail on my phone, same thing with a mate.
One day both our phones were playing to callers" Dum Dahhh, That number is not listed" as the Voicemail diverts were back on but no voicemail there to collect the calls.
I complained and that message has since been changed to something that does not sound like "this customer has not paid their bill" or "That cusomer has bailed the country"

Really smart.

When it got turned on for me, it just played a message that the voicemail wasn't configured and hung up, without actually answering the call. I wanted that behavior on my other phone and they couldn't do it. Sigh... vodafone, why do you do these things to us?

in response to paradoxsm, when switching off voicemail for a customer there are 2 options that need to be turned off. CSR's used to be able to get away with just turning one of these off. When the Prepay system was upgraded (Late October last year) some accounts that had only 1/2 switched off magically started having voicemail issues.

For On Account customers you can change the ring before voicemail with a GSM code:

**61*+6421700100**[NN]# then press call/send

[NN] is he value of time to ring, from 5 seconds to 30seconds (in 5 sec blocks)

Does this command also put in place the CFNR to 6421700100 as it  would need this to work!

The **61 will be for not answered calls, CFNR should be controlled by OCCF if no specified value though?

Thanks for that Cranz, I just used it to set my phone for a 30 second ring delay.

It came up with a message:  "Divert Activated" so I am guessing that means it worked OK?

My phone does seem to ring for a bit longer now before diverting to voice mail.  This is a handy function to know about.
