Does anyone know a place in Auckland that has strong 4g reception?
Map from the Vodafone website seems a bit inaccurate . I tried going to new market and mt roskill but there aren't any 4g reception. my galaxy s4 picked up one bar at penrose but my Nokia lumia 920 couldn't pick up 4g. I need to check if there's issues with the phone

I used a Samsung S4 with LTE around Vodafone's building in the CBD, got 66 Mbps download speeds. Pretty good.

Hi there

To get 4G as well as compatible phone with current software and coverage you'll need to have a qualifying plan. Just wondering which plan you're on on and if you have the 4G add-on enabled?

Cheers

Where did you purchase your 920 from? Not all variants support LTE.

Were you using an LTE enabled phone, or a sausage?

I was having issues until I rung up Vodafone and they said they don't currently support sausages.

Slightly on/off topic here.

Why do you need a "qualifying plan" to have a 4g add-on enabled?

Is it not good enough to have a plan and a 4G phone, to then qualify for a 4G add-on, which you pay for anyway?

Not that I am unhappy with my DC speeds, but it'd be nice to see 4G speeds of twice what I currently get on 3.5G.

Older Smart plans / iphone plans with the 3GB included are not eligible and some older plans,

Not all customers need to pay for the 4G addon many plans have it included already

We consider 4G as a premium service at the moment. Our Dual Carrier 3G network which is also being rolled out now is of course free of charge, so you can still get access to our speedy network in and have a great online experience in many locations across Auckland. In an effort to keep the 4G experience as hassle-free as possible for our customers we have elected to allow only our Smart and Smart Business plan customers access to this service at this point. Some customers on lower value smart plans can still choose to purchase the 4G add-on but it is not available on Prepay at all right now.

I can't speak to what the future holds, but it seems natural to me that the service will become more freely available as coverage increases. We'll have to wait and see I guess!

I am on the Smart 150 plan.
I changed my mobile from 4G to 3G then back to 4G. Seems like I'm getting 4G coverage now.
I also went to New market and it had full 4G reception.
I bought my Nokia from nokia hong kong. I was gonna buy 820 from vodafone or 2degrees but their phones was either black or more black.. so I would recommend getting a bit more color variety.

Thanks

I got 90 Mbps in the Victoria Street car park in the CBD. Unbelievable!
