Hi everyone

Just wanted to give you a heads up that iSKY will no longer be unmetered from 10 June. This is due to a change that SKY is making to improve overall performance but will mean that it can't be unmetered.

There's more info on the iSKY site here
https://skytv.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1212/

Cheers

Dylan

"This is due to a change that SKY is making to improve overall performance but will mean that it can't be unmetered." What sort of improvements or is this Sky's usual spin doctoring??

It'll be the usual story: they'll be switching to a CDN shared with others, and Vodafone don't want to zero-rate all traffic served by that CDN and/or play catch-up with what IP addresses said CDN serves from.

Probably sky acting before the commerce commission looks into it as they were being investigated over their anti competitive deals with ISPs.

This is a convenient way to make that case go away.

At least we now know what the news was from here: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=40&topicid=115197

So, with no Steam server, and iSky now also gone, whats left on the unmetered list??
