Anyone else in Wellington having issues with their cable internet at the moment? I can't currently even ping their gateway which is the first step past the modem so something's fallen apart somewhere. After being on hold for 15 minutes and still not talking to anyone I got fed up waiting. Using the fallback ADSL connection at the moment.

I'm in Brooklyn. It's working again now, it was out since about 10pm Wednesday night, came back online sometime last night. I don't expect any sort of explanation from them of course...

Yup, same problem here.  Techie coming tomorrow- second time in four days...... Apparently modem/connection had time outed 114 times since 9pm-1pm and 8 times while I had it reset/re-provisioned on the phone.??? Sorry, no expert. They have the worst Customer Service too. Grrr.

TCL's cable network has been shocking over the past few days. There have been frequent dropouts everywhere. Has been a great run for the past 2 1/2 months - I guess it couldn't last for ever! :-)

I implore all people who have issues with Telstra Cable to phone them, and don't give up waiting.  They seem to answer the calls faster if it is going cost them a fortune (ie, from a Telecom Mobile).

Once you get through to them, explain to them how its not your modem at fault but their network, and point out sites such as this where you have read that others have had problems.  If enough people actually tell them they will be forced to listen.  I'm sick of being told that no one has called up with problems.

Don't let them send out Techs, or, at the least, don't go out of your way to be there, and if they want to send a tech, insist that you will not be paying *at all*.  I'm sure that we all know that the tech isn't going to find anything new.  Tell them this,  Get them to take notes, and pass messages on to their superiors.

Most of all, keep your cool.  Don't be insulting or rude to the poor help desk monkey you end up talking to.  He can't do a hell of a lot.

Finally, to all those out there whose grandmothers I have just taught to suck eggs, I apologize, but it seems that at the very least, no one is persisting with the call - 15 minutes on hold, and people give up, or so it seems.
