Bit scarce on details but this Vodafone handset is locked to the Vodafone network:

http://www.dicksmith.co.nz/prepaid-mobiles/nokia-100-pink-vodafone-dsnz-em0149

The Dick Smith banner says that it is such a good deal that "at this price this phone is set up to only work with a Vodafone NZ SIM*".

Seemingly no way to click through to the fine print from that banner as it doesn't work. And the product info page doesn't mention or detail it.

The info might be there somewhere but I haven't bothered to go hunting for it. IMHO it should be on the Dick Smith product page under description since it is vital information.

Is this the first Vodafone NZ handset to be locked in a while? It will have of course been "forced" upon VF by Skinny's low cost phones. Unsure whether there will be an unlock available for a surcharge, or if such a surcharge would be waived after a certain time period.

Off the top of my head it's locked for 8mo with a $30 unlocking fee, a bit like Skinny. I might be incorrect here though.
