Via Vodafone web page you can get through to this http://networkstatus.telstraclear.co.nz/ (takes some digging) - but as you can see it is of absolutely no use!

This is Vodafone's status page which I found and seems to have a little bit more accurate info than the old telstraclear status page.

Currently data transfer issues going on across Wellington and Chch, Not really much further info to be had.

Edit:

Also looks like the 0508 number is experiencing a few issues as well.

First outage that I've had on cable that has shown up on a status page.

But I'm back up now in Lower Hutt.

I find the list of affected areas is interesting.
By saying "Courtney Place, Wellington", thats a very specific location so are they implying other suburbs are not affected (which we know is not true)
Or is it just a poor list?

seems to me that the primary DNS servers is down (203.97.78.43).
I restored access during this outage by using google's global DNS server as the primary DNS server (8.8.8.8)

update:
ignore the above.
it seems that service was restored exactly at the same time as I updated my router's DNS entries.
I'm back to using the regular primary and secondary DNS services, and all is well in Newlands for me now.
