I have a client that has a shop, and has Vodafone cable internet there, the only thing it is for is remote access to his DVR to view the cameras from his home
It seems, for the last 2-3 months, it will work for approx 3 weeks without fault, then he cannot connect again - worked fine for a number of years before that time though
He calls Vodafone (4th time now....), a tech arrives, pronounces it fine, doesn't do anything onsite then it works again for a few weeks
Modem/Router has been changed last time after it was faulty, and the connection worked for 3 weeks, then no connection again

No settings have been changed at the shop or in the DVR - he's not technically minded so doesn't play with stuff he doesn't understand

I'm at a loss, as when he calls Vodafone to log a fault, they say that the modem is connected and working fine
Cannot ping the IP address either
Have tried power off/on several times with no success
I can connect directly to the DVR at the shop, so it's not the fault, I've even setup the DVR at my place and remote connected to it, so the DVR is fine

Hope I haven't left anything out, thanks in advance for the assistance......

So the modem does not lose connection to the internet and the end user can still browse the web at the time you can't connect to the DVR?

Does he have a static ip? Sounds like the router has been given a different ip after a connection drop - he could go to www.whatsmyip.org to see if he's been given a different ip.

No PC onsite, just the DVR connected to the modem/router
Yes, static IP, had Vodafone tech onsite on Monday, now it's working again
Will take a PC to site if it drops and see what IP is being assigned to it
