I have just started looking after a few things at a company and they currently have 2 IPhones that are on the old Smart 5 plan which the contract period has well and truly expired and compared to the plans that are offer now they are paying thru the nose for all their services. If I go with the RED Business 2GB plan, 24 months, I will basically be able to cut their bill by nearly 2/3rds.

The problem is that with my discussions instore and to the Vodafone CSRs they have informed that the $1050 phone credit must be used immediately and there is no way of holding this credit until the new Iphones come out. I really would like the company to start saving money now as they have been overpaying for some time (also have been paying Smart Blackberry Bis Services x 2, no one has used a Blackberry in the company for 2 1/2 years!).

Does anyone have any suggestions how I can reduce their bill now and still get the phone credit for later use.

Hi Brendon,

That's a bit odd - If you go into a store, you'll need to use the subsidies on the spot, but if you sign up online or call the business sales team, you should be able to get vouchers issued to the value of the subsidies if there isn't a suitable handset out right now. These vouchers are usually valid for three months, so should be plenty of time for new iDevices.

Let us know if you have any trouble with this and we can get the right folks in touch with you directly.

Cheers,

Thanks for the quick response, the guy in the shop told me to ring the CSRs and ask for vouchers which I did and was told that they do not do that, when I went back to the shop to let the guy know he seemed a little bemused.

I will try online to see if i can get vouchers, he mentioned that they have a 3 month expirary, do you know if this is correct and can you get them extended in case the new Iphones have not shown up by thn.

Hey there,

As mentioned above, the three month expiration is correct. There shouldn't be any issues with new iDevices in that length of time, but I'd suggest discussing it when you sign up for the new plans. If you have trouble online, or call the sales team back and still can't get vouchers issued, just email us directly at onlinecare@vodafone.co.nz with the details and we'll get the right folks in touch with you to sort it out.
