Hi all at World Exchange.

I just wanted to thank you for your great ADSL/VOIP services you have provided us since we joined you...must be 7-9 years ago.  But I am changing over to Full Flavour Media.

So why the change?  We tend to use around 150-200Gb/month for business and personal and Xnet was just starting to look too expensive.  Originally the $1/Gig was a good option as we only paid for what we used but now it looks on the expensive side as our usage has increased.

I rang Xnet CS about 6 months ago to see if there was another plan that better suited us but sadly not.

So it's good bye Xnet but thank you for the great service over the years.  You beat the pants off many providers out there especially Tele you know who.

Cheers
Andy

I would like to echo your sentiment and say that I am in a similar position and have decided to go with a new supplier (Snap for me) because the numbers just don't stack up anymore, but I too have had at least 6 or 7 years of flawless service from Xnet / WXC but the current range of plans are just not competitive for my needs anymore.

May the farce be with you!

Glad it wasn't just me then.  Perhaps it would be worth World Exchange re considering their plans if the number of people moving away is a bit more wide spread than the 2 of us :)

Moved to Snap a few months ago (very happy with them). Same position, was happy with Xnet but new plans were uncompetitive (was on torrent plan so had a bit more buffer against the other plans).

What I will say is that, in my opinion, Xnet's phone service is the best out there. Having said that, having mobiles etc, the home phone is not as important as it once was, and is getting less and less important as time goes on.

Internet access was / is more important than phone service, so, having a great phone service did not make up for the uncompetitive internet service.

perhaps they're going for quality vs quantity? 150gb is still heaps of data.

150gb is not really a lot when your using it for business transferring media files to and from clients.  It goes pretty quickly.

It's still 8 x the NZ average per month. And when you consider there are lots of people with 100GB + caps these days it makes you realise how many people there are that are still sub 10GB per month.

Yep also the average can be misleading, what's the median usage?

I think WxC pricing is probably quite realistic:
i.e. if everyone was on a 150GB plan with what ever their ISP and used 150GB per month, then I know which ISP I'd want to be with.
The reality is, on average many people are on "large" caps, but use no where near their cap , so effectively the small users are subsidising the large users.
