Bandwagon thread!

But seriously, as of a few weeks ago Voda deployed their first coverage in Hamilton city, at waikato stadium (hat tip to johnr)

(not my speedtest, i dont have a 4G device)

The first in the Waikato was at Mystery Creek Events Centre back in June for the Fieldays, but this if the first in the city.

any hope of broadband starved rural Cambridge having access to Vodafone 4 G any time soon - is it possible to have RBI broadband at speeds comparable to fibre speeds using 4 g. I am hoping against hope as we have been left high and dry by everyone one concerned - we are 10 k northeast of Cambridge.

4G for RBI customers is quite some time off. Won't happen until LTE700, of wich a suitable router is probably a year away by my guess.

We do a 21Mbps router for RBI now, wich in good coverage and site capacity areas will hit 10-13Mbps. In average areas, typically 5-8Mbps. Flick me PM / email if you are interested in a solution now.

Well now... there are atually 3 Cell's that have had the 4G upgrade done so far that I know of..

Waikato Stadium, Mystery creek event center, and as long as it hasnt been moved the COW (cell on wheels), that was positioned behind hamilton central police station.

But no official word on more sites unless JohnR or TimA can elude to some more .......

what about the Cambridge tower and the Sanatorium Hill tower as well ? are any of those likely to be RBI enabled ?

I spent some time in Hamilton for the first time recently. Interestingly I was getting 4G on my phone and tablet, but in quite a few places I was getting no signal at all. Strange. Around St Andrews golf club and the northern end of Ulster Street/Road

Not sure on this one, I know it's due anytime now.
Both Cambridge and Sanatorium Hill are RBI upgraded sites, though last check Sanatorium Hill was still only 2100, we prefer to only use 900 for our installs.

Went past the stadium today, and did a quick speedtest in the ~45s I had 4G (I was in a car). I Had 3 bars on my iPhone 5, got only 21Mbps down and 0.01Mbps up, which is a bit disappointing, but the download was certainly better than most 3G sites. Looking forward for some more progress in Hamilton. Is the 4G site at Mystery Creek still active? We go past there quite often, but haven't noticed anything as of yet.
