I'm trying to get hold of a Linksys PAP2T to use with VFX but I can't seem to find them anywhere. There are some PAP2-NA for sell on Trade Me. What's the difference bewteen those and a PAP2T?

There is a major issue with the PAP2-NA and we will not be allowing them on the network sorry, this issue is a very serious one so we will not be allowing any - NA versions on the network. PM me if you require more detail

For the record, whats the problem with the NA version which I assume isn't fixable with a firmware upgrade. I remember a senior vfx tech saying wxc went with Linksys because they ran the same VOiP stack on all the devices.

Also - If the gentleman is struggling to get a linksys device, call me and I'll get one for him through our supplier to help him out.

Yes that would have been me :).....no It is not a firmware issue, bit more serious than that actually it is a actual hardware problem, happy to discuss the issue directly but not in a public forum sorry :)

Is the hardware fault (as discussed on http://www.archivum.info/asterisk-users@lists.digium.com/2005-03/msg02304.html)

that the chipset the NA uses can only handle one call at a time (even through it's a two line device)

Or, are you going to go James Bond on us and neither confirm or deny?

No the issue is not that and I will go a bit James Bond i'm afraid as I said happy to discuss directly but not in a public forum due to the nature of the problem.....thing to remeber here as well the PAP2t is the PAP device for NZ anyway :)

This is only an issue if you're using G729 as the voice codec for both lines. If you're using any other codec it's not an issue.

A search on Google for PAP2-NA problem will give a long list of issues which show the Administrator access is acessible to all.
It looks like International software released last month may fix it. cheers George
