I believe I have been sent emails but they are not appearing in my inbox possibly because of the junk filter. These emails are extremely important and I need to know how do I go about retrieving them? I contacted Vodafone CS and managed to turn off the junk filter but still don't know how I can possibly get these emails back?

Please if anyone could help me it would mean a lot.

It's quite well know that Vodafones junk mail filter is over agressive, i've had 50% false positive spam deletions and after quite a number of discussions back and forward vodafone have done very little to sort it out.

Tell them you want the spam filter logs, point out the false spam deletions.

Their spam filter sucks big time, the very least they could do they could dunmp all the suspect spam in a spam folder where at least you could reterive the valid emails, but no just delete the whole lot, don't tell the receiver, don't tell the sender.

Keep on at them....I am, I'm at the point where I would rather have no spam filter and deal with the actual spam myself so I know that I am actually getting all vaild emails!!

I found a message in my VF spam folder (recently) from GeekZone saying that I had a new GZ email.

DarthKermit: I found a message in my VF spam folder (recently) from GeekZone saying that I had a new GZ email.

Interesting... One of the reasons we don't send the PM itself in the email notification is to avoid "learning machines" such as Google to think our PM notifications are spam and start blocking those messages for everyone else.

We have (or think we have) almost everything setup correct in terms of email domain, DNS records, reverse DNS, etc. We're pretty sure most of our emails fly through spam detectors. But we find out something new every day.

Would you like to test it out with me? If you send me a message, I'll check if I get another notification in my spam folder.

After a long discussion with a clueless CSR at Vodafone it looks like I'm cutting all my services with them and will be setting up a new email somewhere else.

The CSR words exactly "If you can give us the email of the person and the date they sent the email we can help you" ...umm why can't I just see the spam I'm being sent like a normal email service should allow me to do? Does Vodafone really expect me to go call everyone I know in life and ask them if they have sent me emails and at what date they have sent me an email?

Also I want to know why Vodafone changed their webmail system? They use to be a way to manually check all the emails that were getting filtered into spam, I remember last year I checked the spam emails and all of the emails were legitimate emails and there was no spam at all, so I ended up marking them all as safe so they would appear in my inbox. However earlier this year they changed the system where you can't access or even see what's getting filtered.

This is almost exactly word for word the lame excuse vodafone gave me.

Get the sender to resend to another address. You have to ask yourself if the email is so important, should you be using an ISP email account, as that is usually just a free service they provide and usually 'best effort', so is usually not a core service.
Otherwise pay for an email account with an email provider, and you can configure spam filtering, and also view the spam logs in the control panel, which I don't think you can do with free ISP email.
