With the official release hitting Ireland I wondered if any of the VF folks could let us know when we could expect to see 4.3 update on our Galaxy S3s?

Hi,

I have a S4 too and want to get 4.3 or "Kitkat"
I have not heard anything. You will get an OA update prompt i would suspect.
Anyway, I will email the team that deals with devices and find out.
To my know;edge it was only avaliable on Nexus anyway..
Cheers

I'm also waiting to hear the news regarding 4.3 as well from JohnR.

Bring us some good news when you have anything :)

My 32GB S3 had some mobo issues a few months ago and Samsung repaired it.

Now I'm running 4.1.2 stock firmware with Google KitKat launcher and new Google now works like charm. I'm no longer pressing Google Now button to Google search. :)
Just speak "Ok Google" and BAM!

Legend, thank you for the incredibly prompt response.

I understand it's now with Samsung to push out via Kies/OTA.
I read they've had issues overseas and have ceased updating a couple of countries, but I know T-Mobile in the states is still getting it pushed down so who knows.

*eagerly awaits the new firmware*

Let's hope it isn't the bug filled pile of poo that's been inflicted on others. I thought Samsung had pulled it?

I can vouch for it being terrible ;o)

Don't hold your breath, if it's the same one that's been pushing out across the world then you'd be better off avoiding it.

I'm of the view when you upgrade major versions of Apps you should perform a clean removal and reinstall.

I attempted to help a few people in the Vista - Win 7 'upgrade'. I noted that when users installed Win 7 clean, it worked 100% of the time. When they performed an 'upgrade' it worked 20-30% of the time!

So, if it's rolled out I'm going to do precisely that and wipe her clean and start afresh.
