I've noticed in the last few months my internet has stopped working regularly, requiring the cable modem to be rebooted (Surfboard SB5101), every couple of weeks or so. Has anyone else noticed anything similar, or could the modem itself possibly be the cause? Anyone know if Vodafone are likely to be prepared to swap out the modem in a situation like this? Located in Christchurch.

Might be a faulty one, I haven't had a need to reboot my cable modem (Surfboard SB5101 DOCSIS 2.0 for LightSpeed days) prior to my current Cisco (DOCSIS 3.0 for WarpSpeed), even with the current one it's very stable.

Could be your router as fault.

Overheating perhaps?

Thanks I'll check the temperature next time it happens. I don't believe the router is the issue, but next time it happens I'll connect straight to the modem and see if it works or still requires reboot.

Would highly recommend logging a fault with the team on 0508 888 800, they can run diagnostics on it & certainly will swap it out if that's required.

 Cheers,
