Hey

My parents are currently on the old telstraclear homeplan and a while ago (6+ months) I told my mum to change to one of the vodafone plans because they looked better. She rang up and was told it couldn't be changed easily but they would be able to in a couple of months or something. So I was just wondering if this could be done now?

Also just wondering which mobile plans qualify for the $10 per month discount for home phone and internet? my mum changed her mobile over at the time she rang up and is currently smart $30 plan, would this get the discount?

Cheers

OK not so straight fwd but it can be done, Do you know what plan they want to go on, Naked or clothed?

Then call and they will need to be moved from TCL to Vodafone billing platform

Clothed. Probably the 80GB plan. And would the $30 smart on account plan qualify to make it $75 per month?

This can take up to 5 business days as I understand, As the account needs to be moved from TCL to Vodafone but service should not be lost

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Mum finally got onto it yesterday. And from the next billing period they'll be getting 250% the data plus the 5 free best mates for about the same as they're currently paying. plus they're adding their sky bill and will save some money on that.

Funny, every time (3 times) I have called Vodafone about the new plans ( I'm on cable), I've been told they are not available and I can't move to them because I'm an old Telstra customer).

If you are on cable (HFC) and want to stay on cable (HFC) you can't that is why I asked above if they were on xDSL before commenting further

Ahh I misunderstood. When you said 'not so straightforward but it can be done' I thought you meant that it was not so straightforward as it would be if they were on cable.

So, if I leave Vodafone and then rejoin, can I get the new plans? How come new joiners can get them, but not existing customers on the same network?

No cable customers can't change to the xDSL plans, Cable and xDSL plans are different

Are new customers not able to join cable? These are the plans I am talking about http://www.vodafone.co.nz/broadband/high-speed-cable/

But was told that as an existing TCL customer I could not go on the 250g one.
