Hi guys I am sharing my experience that I have had about porting a number for my mother to Vodafone. It hasn't happened as yet and this is the reason I am creating this forum to get some clarification around the process especially the SIM cards involved.

Before I start I want to bring it up I am currently with Vodafone and have been happy most of the times with them. I went to sylvia park Vodafone to port my mother's number back to Vodafone as she had moved over to telecom recently however she wanted to port back. I knew the prepay plan I wanted her number on and also took the SIM number which is required for a prepay port. I spoke to the rep there and explained what I wanted and once she knew I wanted this plan with the NZ best mate she told me we don't have those SIM cards. I didn't realise that the SIMS are plan specific too and I could port across with a SIM and then choose the plan. Went to the Vodafone kiosk in the same mall they go through the same questions and same response - don't have those SIMS. Then I went to a third store and the same response again.

Does anyone know if this is true? I am confused as I want to port this number over however I can't find a SIM to do it or may be the reps at store are not so keen on prepaid ports.

John

Thanks John that would be awesome. Do I buy a blank SIM or a new prepaid connection with a new number and then the port happens later?

You need a Prepay connection pack that will already have a number attached
