Hi There!

I am thinking of changing to WXC for VOIP.

We currently run 2 ATA's one of which is connected upstairs, and the other downstairs, and right now, if someone calls our home number, you can answer from either and both ring.

Is this possible with WXC?

Is Auto Provision of ATA's supported?

Hi networkn,

autoprovision of ATA's is supported for our certified devices, just need to enter the profile rule and the device configures itself from that point.

However, you can only register once per ATA, meaning that the ATA that registered last will ring on an incoming call, outgoing should work from either ATA. (Registering 2 ATA's on one number would only work on the OpenVFX service which is not autoprovisioned or supported on our helpdesk)

There is a Simultaneous ring feature for the advanced feature package but you'd need to set two different numbers to ring at the same time, not the same number on two ATA's.

Hells yea! W52P is so dam good for the price point. Absolutely sh1ts on Gigaset. Only thing I don't like about them is battery life doesn't seem to be awesome. They last the day no sweat but do need to be on the base every night.

The only kit I would use for IP DECT now is the Verse range - except you can buy 3 Yealink handsets for the price of a single Verse unit.

Can you explain as to how you do this? as the way it works (as far as i have been taught), is the call will be passed to last device that has registered. The only way I could think of is you have assigned, the same IP address to both devices.... surly that would cause a conflict though.

Hmm the W52P is interesting looking, seems inexpensive relatively speaking. How would it compare to the Uniden Dect 6.0 Analogue phones for range and sound quality?

What is verse? What price are they?

OP may be with 2Talk, as they have a feature that allows 6 devices to register from one number

If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.

If you use a platform such as 2talk they give you a simultaneous ring feature by assigning different SIP credentials to each device and then using a pseudo ring group to ring each one.

SIP has always traditionally allowed a single registration per peer, and if you had two registrations the last one to register would end up with the calls. New SIP stacks such as PJSIP allow multiple registrations which is a compelling reason to use Asterisk 12!

Both use DECT for the air interface so coverage is identical (within the realm of antenna design and quality).

IMHO the best IP/DECT kit around right now is the Panasonic stuff. Their KX-UDS124CE base stations and phones are fantastic, but it's not the sort of kit you'll use at home unless you've got a bigger budget and really understand how the stuff works.

Verse OEM IP DECT kit for Samsung and NEC PABX systems and probably a few more.

When only use Verse kit in situations where cordless phone use has to be rock solid all the time - rest homes, warehouses etc. Pricing is about the same as the Panasonic gear sbiddle mentioned. But it is dam good equipment and worth every penny. It really shines in multi-cell situations in particular.

We use the Yealink kit when someone just wants the convenience of a cordless phone in the office, or when residential customers want to improve their communications.

Call quality s extremely good because you can utilise G.722 and, as sbiddle mentioned, it still uses DECT so coverage is just the same as the others.
They have a nice XML phonebook too which can be handy every now and again.
