Hey hey,

I'm new here and thought I'd start my first post with a problem I'm having (funny that).

I've just bought an LG KU800. It looks great, and works well, except for the fact that I can't download software onto it.

I've tried to download the gmail app, opera mini and a game from vodafone but sadly, none of them would download. I either keep getting a timeout message or a connection lost message.

Does anyone have any ideas? It is a parallel imported phone.

Thanks in advnace,

KN

Welcome to Geekzone...

Can you browse the Internet with this phone, send and receive MMS or check e-mails? I suspect it's not configured to work with Vodafone New Zealand, in which case you can either change the configuration yourself (check our Vodafone forum, there's a sticky post with settings) or send it back to the store and ask them to do it for you.

The joys of parallel imported phones.

IME not all parallel imported handsets will be able to fully utilise Vodafone Live! (I assume this is where you're trying to get the games from?) this includes downloading games, ringtones and full music tracks.

Yeah I guessed that. But its not only games. I can't download any applications to my phone (i.e Gmail App and Opera Mini)

Just noticed that under games and applications there is an option for "java settings".
When I go into it there is nothing there, but there is an option to add a java setting. If I choose add it asks me for service name, ip address, proxy server port and access point. Does anyone know where I can get these settings? Or if they're important?

Cheers,

KN
