Guys

Does VFX send caller ID when call waiting is used?

Cheers

David

Yes. It does to the email log but there is no way of checking it on the actual phone as the beeps are going. If we miss a call while on the phone we just just check the emailed caller log which comes through pretty much instantly. It is an awesome feature as you don't have to answer the call waiting.

Cheers, Matt.

Cheers Matt,

I have seen caller ID working on a Uniden Handset, where while the call was in progress that the new incomming call was displayed on the handset....  This wasnt using VFX however....

But wondered if it would work on VFX, I;m as the same as you, I get the beeps, but a blank display...

Ahh, the mystery deepens. Maybe it is phone specific. Both my panasonic DECT's and the Uniden corded phone I have all miss the caller ID when I am on the phone...

It would be setting dependent on the ATA, I'm not aware of Telecom supporting caller id on call waiting but its defiantly a feature that many phones support.

I've had a play round with this too, but no success with either my Uniden desktop or Panasonic cordless. Even tried some alternate regional settings for the caller ID, but still no success. Maybe it is a handset thing, or just can't been done on an ATA. My guess it possibly would work on an IP phone, but I don't have one to try.

Cheers....  I wanted to know if it was a limitation of my phone....  so I tried using another ATA (SPA2102) connected to our Asterisk Server...  and the caller ID was displayed when I received a call whilst on a call, using call waiting...

So i can only assume that either

1) WxC doesn't pass the CallerID information when you receive a call whilst on a call
2) Something in there 'locked down' configuration is preventing this.

Cheers

David
