Recently enabled e-mail monitoring of my current router and have been surprised at the amount of Port 53 traffic i have received, i have then calculated it out and wanted some feed back as to how good my guess was:

So 228 Port attempts at 512 bytes a minuet times 60 for an hour times 24 for a day times 28 for a billing cycle equals 4706795520bytes or 4.7gig ISH

would that sound about right??

if so pity i cant actually uses the 4.7gig for real data. Interested to hear peoples thoughts on this.

johnr: What router? Search " Port 53 open " here on Geekzone

Its just a Dlink DI-524, i searched for Port 53 open and none explained the packet size of a dns/ port53 request that i could see, and to my knowledge the router is not serving dns on the wan side.

www.whatsmyip.org/port-scanner/server/ All reports Timed out (Port53)
www.canyouseeme.org/ Error: I could not see your service on x.x.x.x on port (53) Reason: Connection timed out

So two sites suggest i have no open port
