Hello,

Just wondering, this morning when I woke up my phone didn't have any network connection (wifi ok, but for mobile it said 'emergency calls only').

Just assumed it was an issue with my phone (nexus 5) and rebooted it, network connection restored and sms coming though, all ok.

But then my wife had the same issue (iphone 5) without any connections either. A reboot of her phone fixed the problem as well.

I just find it hard to believe that both phones would have the same issue at the same time (I've never had that problem before).

So I guess the questions are:

Anyone else had a problem this morning? (I'm in Christchurch).

How can I lose connectivity but not automatically be re-connected?

I personally think that a Vodafone tower went down and it couldn't connect to another one (I noticed the connection was weaker after the reboot - and iphone was showing 3g instead of 4g).

Anyway I'd be interested to hear your thoughs - hopefully it's just something they're doing down the road and it won't happen again.

Thanks

What part of Christchurch are you located? Many upgrades going on bringing more capacity and more 4G to the area

Edit: Shirley site was off-line getting planned upgrade
