Vodafone 100Mb/s Cable is now equal or better than Fibre 100Mb/s.

NB, Our generic Fibre results include all ISPs with fibre, including Vodafone.

Upload is introduced as permanent feature this month and as you can see from the chart below, 100Mb/s Fibre with a 50Mb/s upload is in a different competition - go UFB Fibre!

interesting results..

have you considered/have enough data to look at splitting VDSL into 8b and 17a bandplans?

TimA also tells me your interested in my line, will have to get around to getting in contact at some point.

Could have enough probes soon if the current growth in VDSL continues, volunteers are updating in droves.   However we cannot tell the bandplan, we would need details from the volunteer.  We test at Ethernet level, which means the bandplan is invisible

yes, absolutely, it would be required on knowing the stats, and checking up for any changes etc..

due to the volatile nature of VDSL profiles, it certainly would be a hard one to go by.

a bit of a generalization but there are a few assumptions there that indicate towards it too, in-which 8b often doesnt break 50mbit till 17a is ticked over (exception being really good lines or snr tweaking).

That's cool:)

I disagree with what vodafones saying though, saying that the govt should stop rolling out fibre and just use their existing cable network. Fibre is much more future proof

Pretty happy with it tonight:

That's 10MB/s - or 80 Mbps...

I guess that makes perfect sense then :)

Although if that's what they did then good on them! Hopefully the 200/50 mbps fiber UFB plan will move out of trial to production [if it hasn't already] and that'll sort that one out for good. My work colleague on the 200/50 plan is getting around the 175mbps mark consistently, limited by the Microtik router she's using.

Cable might be the fastest, but it has some huge drawbacks as well

Firstly your stuck with Vodafone, I have no idea of the technical possibilities or complexities of unbundling cable like copper was, but I'd imagine if it's possible it's not easy, cheap, simple, or something Vodafone would do without a very large stick being waved at them.
Secondly, Vodafone seem to feel they have a captive market (which to an extent they do), and feel no need to offer data at a reasonable price. They recently revised their cable prices UPWARDS, they offer a max of 500gb data, additional data is pricey, no data packs, no data rollover, etc.

If you absolutely need fast reliable speeds, don't need lots of data, and don't mind paying very high prices, and have no UFB access then by all means stay with cable. Otherwise there are simply better options.

Yes they did.

The percentage speed Min\Max figure should be adjusted to reflect it's actually a 10/130 advertised speed. Still has the highest latency outside of Telecom DSL and almost twice as slow on the live page results. Pure speed (however that's measured) is not the be all and end all of stats and I kinda wish these results weren't published with that sort of headline. Real world experience doesn't relate, and that's backed up by the other figures in the report.
