Went around to one of my work colleagues house on Friday evening as her husband is overseas and the wireless router seemed to have lost its settings.
I waited on the phone then for 30 minutes before my call was answered by the wrong department (apparently I needed to say 'technical support' instead of 'cable broadband'). I then waited for 40 minutes before giving up and going home. She called Vodafone back later that evening, on hold for 2 hours. I told her all she needed to get was the public IP address that needs to be set in the router for cable broadband, yet the CSR wouldn't give it to her without diverting from their standard troubleshooting steps which we had both gone through separately anyway.

If someone from Vodafone is able to call her with the IP address she needs would be fantastic.

I have a SMS problem in my mobile account but I won't call their help desk. I can imagine suggestions such as turn phone off and on, try another handset, ask people to send SMS, send to yourself, etc. I know what the problem is but just thinking they will go through this hellish experience takes my breath away.

Oh and the wait.

Your FaceBook SMS issue is outside of the Vodafone NZ network and I have emailed the 3rd party company that route the SMS the details

Hi jnimmo,

Which number were you calling? Flick me a private message with the account number & I'll get it sorted. :)

Cheers,

Just managed to get it sorted thanks Nik - I must have called a different number this morning because I hadn't got the option for a callback last time we tried
Think I called the number for TelstraClear customers on Friday but 0800 438 448 this morning
