I remember vodafone advertising their 2 month on account upgrade as needed to be able to offer new services from 1st July, such as bestmate for on account customers?

Since they have completed their upgrade, why are they still not releasing any new services?

Seems like another way to raise peoples expectations and disappoint once again....

They never explicitly stated that they would offer new services from July 1, or confirm that BestMate On Account would be available them. I suspect they will give the new system a month or so to make sure they are no major issues before they start releasing new services.

They sure do like to take their time that's for sure.

About 10 days ago, the guy in a Vodafone shop said BestMate OA was coming VERY soon to YouChoose customers as an addon. $6 for one bestmate, $10 for two bestmates and $12 for 3 bestmates.

I was expecting a launch this morning but of course.... nothing, however i've been expecting a laucnh sicne early 2007 when they said it would be launched in the first place.

I actually heard a rumor yesterday thatw e wont have it until next year now....

I'm thinking of moving to prepay, loosing my number i've had for the past 5 years!!

Thing is, as soon as i do it i bet they bring out bestmate for OA... they just hype everyone up... new billing system, new services, bestmate early 2007... blah blah blah!!!

SO angry!

I called 777 to see what they said about this. The lady who answered the phone said that, at this stage, Best Mate is not planned to be released to On Account customers. I asked her about the press release from last year saying it would be available early 2007 and she said yes that was what the Press Release said but due to some 'issues' within Vodafone at the moment Best Mate for On Account is no longer planned to be released however they may review this sometime in the future.

She didnt really sound like she knew what she was talking about at all tho so i'm not sure I can trust what she said.

OT: should we help Vodafone NZ to dig their grave for them to bury themselves in? hehe.. all these actions or "issues" aren't doing Vodafone NZ any good... real shame!

I advise everyone to call them and ask when OA bestmate is coming...

I just did and she said there is no date but she thought it was because they are having problems with the new billing system.

I look foward to the day I call them and cancel my account... stating the reason is because they don't offer bestmate! IT can't be that F#%^$^# hard to implement.

I suspect any add-on like this would require users to sign up for a contract, change their current plans, etc. I rather not be tied to them for anything.

Why don't you port your number to Telecom Prepay and then port back to Vodafone Prepay?

Oh that's right, Vodafone doesn't allow this even though Number Portability came into effect 1 April.

Oh well.

i still won't be even remotely interested in a you choose "core plan" unless they do something like telecom's flexi and include pxt in all the bestmate suites including existing pre pay as it would be the only thing i'm interested in.. I'm staying on my base 20 which offers great value according to even the oecd (base 20 is NOT a you choose plan!)

I don't know about you but i don't have only 3 friends!

My bestmate is an sms controller which pages me status, about to be replaced with an ip based system

Man I really wouldn't trust what a customer service operator said some of them are really stupid. e.g. Offer you something but don't follow through, like saying I am entitled to a voucher then not issuing one out on their system for me.  I end up going to the store and no one knows what the hell I'm going on about, no reference or anything.  Spend another 2 hours on the phone to customer services wondering what the hell has happened to my voucher, lucky I took the name of the person I was talking to down.
