I was looking at the plans and saw this:

"Broadband and tablet discounts"

That to me says I should be able to get a discount buying an iPad. Is that what it means?!

He probably saw it here - http://www.vodafone.co.nz/red

It looks like you have to click "view more plans" on that same page to see it described as "Tablet plan discounts".

You should be able to use the hardware subsidy that comes with on account plans to buy any hardware or accessories we stock - so yes, that would include 4G iPads. :)

Really? Interesting.

The drop down process for those plans only includes phones though, so you would not be able to do so online.

Maybe I will keep my iPhone5 going for another couple of years and get a new iPad when I re-sign later this year then...! Unless the iPhone 6 is a Note sized thing or I choose the Note, of course.

You can choose to get a voucher instead of purchasing one of the suggested handsets. There are different vouchers for retail stores vs. the online shop, so the exact process may differ between the two. Once you have a voucher through either channel, you can spend it as you like on stocked hardware. :)
