We're having some problems today with Blackberry devices getting a 'data connection refused' message. We found is we changed the network to Telstra the problems disappeared (although the user costs are higher for calls, etc).

About 10-12 days ago we had a Vodafone AU user in NZ and they experienced similar issues.

Voice calls in both cases were working fine.

Are there any technical/lega/other issues going on between Vodafone NZ and Vodafone AU that anyone is aware of?

It all should work transparently. Have you contacted Vodafone New Zealand to see if there's an ongoing problem with this?

I've just spent two weeks in oz and had several occasions where data wasn't working. I was unable to send MMS's on one occasion for several hours and also had issues on a couple of occasions where straight data connections weren't working to check my emails either. There is obviously some sort of problem occuring.

One of our guys is trying to get some answers out of Vodafone. I will let you know if we hear something useful.

Strange things about this:
- Seemed to have similar issues for NZ users in Aust and Aust users in NZ
- A Vodafone NZ user who is in Australia today who had the issue this morning was with another Kiwi (from another firm) who apparently experienced exactly the same problem
