Hi awhile ago when I was first looking at alternative phone services I note that with the italk devices you could program the hardware to recognise phone numbers and then switch between the voip port or the pots port depending on what the number was.
For example cells (02?) would go out the Voip port and local calls through fxo or pots port.
But I read to many bad things about Italk and lots of good things about Vfx and Vfx gave a free trial period, So I went with Vfx and have been very impressed. Shortly after I got Vfx set up Teltraclear came out with Bigback yard, which is awesome and has suited us down to the ground as we live just out side Auckland,

Anyway originaly when I was looking at hardware the SPA3102 was supposed to be able to port calls, based on the number, However at the time Vfx had not finished testing the SPA3102 so it was not available for the Vfx network.
So my question is
    1. Is the SPA3102 availible for the Vfx network (I know it is on the website, But it was originally even though it wasn't ready)

    2. Can it port calls between the Voip and pots port (called the FXO prot) based on number perimeters

    3. will VFX let you do this
Regards Nathen

I think he means least cost routing.

I want to automatically route calls.  Basically Bigback yard gives me free Auckland calling but expensive toll and cell calling.

I want to automatically route all non Auckland toll calls and cell calls though the Voip and all Auckland calls trough the land line.
I have 2 line at the moment 1 land line and one Voip, and apparently its to complicated for the kids to figure out which one to use
So one phone and just dial the number and the box routes the call

Argh I see LCR (least Cost Routing) as exportgoldman said,

Well we can't actually help to much on this, It can be done I believe but we leave that part of the SPA3102 open to people to do with what they want , we don't do any work on that as it's the PSTN side not the VOIP side sorry, A few people on here have done a bit of work with the 3102 ibelieve Tony  Hughes springs to mind and may be able to shed some light for you.

You can set the SPA3102 up so that calls beginning with 09 that are 7 digits long and if you wanted calls that are 7 digits long are routed via the PSTN gateway and all other calls are routed via the VoIP connection. The dialplan allows you to configure a dialplan so that when dial certain numbers they will go via @gw0 which is the PSTN and some to go via @gw1 which is the VoIP connection.

It's been a couple of years since I played with a SPA3000 so I'd have to brush up on the dialplan again, Tony Hughes may be able to help you since he's played with one as well.
